Samsung is introducing new projectors The Premiere LPU9D and LPU7D to the market – we know the details and prices.

Calendar 4/7/2025

Samsung has just launched the sale of the next generation of its ultra-short throw projectors from The Premiere series. Two new models have hit the market: The Premiere LPU9D and LPU7D. Both devices are direct successors to the previously known projector LSP9T. Samsung has announced their debut in the Polish market at prices of approximately 27,000 PLN (around 5K$) for the LPU9D model and around 15,000 PLN (around 3K$) for the LPU7D model.

The key differences between LPU9D and LPU7D

The projectors differ primarily in the laser technology used and image parameters. The LPU9D model employs advanced triple laser RGB technology, which offers a wider colour gamut and greater brightness – according to the manufacturer's specifications, up to 3450 ISO lumens. The LPU7D is a somewhat simpler model based on a single laser with a maximum brightness of 2500 ISO lumens. Both devices display images in 4K resolution. For the LPU9D model, the maximum diagonal size of the projected image is 130 inches, while the LPU7D reaches up to 120 inches. Samsung also emphasises official support for the HDR10+ standard in the LPU9D model. According to the manufacturer, it is the first projector to offer full support for this dynamic metadata HDR format.

Ultrashort throw – how does it work?

Please provide the text you would like to have translated.

Both projectors are ultra-short throw devices. This means they can be placed directly against the wall or screen, allowing for large images to be displayed without the need for ceiling mounting. In practice, only a small gap from the wall is needed to achieve a full image in the stated diagonals.

Additional features related to image quality

The new Samsung models also feature image quality enhancement systems. These include an AI image upscaling function to a resolution close to 4K, as well as Vision Booster technology, which adjusts contrast and brightness according to the lighting conditions of the room. The manufacturer states that as a result, the projection should remain clear even in moderate daylight, but in practice – as always – this should be verified in specific home conditions.

Built-in Audio Systems

LPU9D and LPU7D offer built-in speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The LPU9D model features a 40W sound system in a 2.2.2 configuration, which also includes integrated subwoofers. The LPU7D model has a less advanced audio setup, with a power of 30W. A definite advantage of these devices over traditional projectors is that the sound is actually coming from in front of us and there's nothing "farting" behind our ears, but can we say that these are outstanding speakers? Not really, however, fortunately, the devices also work with the Q-Symphony feature, which allows integration with Samsung soundbars, and such a combination will definitely give us a taste of cinema at home.

Smart TV Functionality and Integration with Smart Home

The Premiere LPU9D and LPU7D run on the well-known Tizen operating system, which provides access to popular streaming applications. The devices also support the Samsung Gaming Hub platform, meaning you can stream cloud games like Xbox Cloud Gaming or GeForce Now without needing a physical console. The projectors are compatible with the SmartThings system, so anyone equipped with the entire Samsung ecosystem can, for example, check during a movie screening what stage their laundry is at or if there are enough drinks in the fridge (of course the one with cameras inside)😉. Both projectors have a simple, minimalist design. Included is the SolarCell remote, which is charged by sunlight or indoor light, already familiar from the latest television models of the manufacturer.
