Imagine building a gigantic television… like with LEGO bricks! That’s exactly how Samsung’s new concept – OLED Tile – works. At the MWC 2025 trade show, the company demonstrated how to combine almost bezel-less OLED panels into one seamless surface. The secret? The bezels have been reduced to just 0.6 mm – that's less than the thickness of a credit card!
How does modular OLED work?
When the panels are connected, the visible lines between them become barely noticeable. Samsung showcased a setup of 10 OLED panels (6.8 inches) and two massive QD-OLED screens (31.5 inches). The effect is impressive! Although it's worth noting – microLED technology still has thinner connections between modules.
Can OLED Tile be an alternative to MicroLED?
As we know, Samsung has had MicroLED screens for sale for some time now. However, their price effectively deters many customers – we are talking about amounts reaching even six digits! That is why OLED Tile may turn out to be an appealing alternative at a significantly lower price.
Will OLED Tile be available for sale?
Unfortunately, for now, it is a prototype. Samsung is not revealing when OLED Tile will hit stores. It is known that the technology is in the development phase, and the company plans to collaborate with television and monitor manufacturers. Patience! In the meantime, we invite you to check out our reviews of Samsung's organic matrix televisions.
