Samsung showcases its vision for the TVs of the future at the Frankfurt fair
During the March event "World of Samsung" in Frankfurt, the company focused on integrating artificial intelligence with TVs that have held the position of global sales leader for nearly two decades. The presentation covered both technological innovations and a long-term support strategy for users.
AI as the New Standard in Televisions
The latest models of Samsung televisions – including OLED, QLED, Neo QLED, and lifestyle The Frame – are set to use AI algorithms for dynamic image optimisation. The AI Picture Optimizer system analyses each frame in real-time, adjusting brightness, contrast, and colour to suit the type of content being displayed. The company emphasises that the goal is to eliminate manual adjustment of settings by viewers.
Support for Quantum Dot technology is also evolving. Color Booster Pro aims to expand the colour range by using semiconductor nanoparticles. Samsung notes that since 2015, it has been gradually phasing out cadmium in favour of safer indium-based compounds, which are significantly safer for humans.
Art in the Living Room and Cinema at Home
In response to the trend of personalisation, Samsung is expanding the Art Store – a digital gallery of art, which will now also be available on QLED, Neo QLED, and Micro LED televisions, not just in The Frame series. From 2025, the collection is expected to include over 3000 works from 70 institutions, including those partnering with Art Basel.
Gaming monitors without compromises
The gaming segment will be boosted by the new Odyssey monitors: the 27-inch OLED G8 with a 4K/240 Hz display and the 49-inch G9 with a 1000R curve. Samsung also announces the implementation of the AI Game Mode, which detects the type of gameplay and automatically configures image settings. The Gaming Hub service aims to make access to streaming titles easier without the need for a console.
Longevity in a package
The company has committed to providing seven-year updates for the Tizen system (with the One UI interface) and the Knox Matrix security platform for TVs from 2025. This is a response to criticism regarding the short support cycle for smart TVs.
Although Samsung also mentioned the integration of televisions with the SmartThings ecosystem and Galaxy mobile devices from the S25 series, it is the new TV models that remain the main pillar of their strategy for the coming years. (at least for us 😉). According to the company's data, they have also led the soundbar sales for 11 years, which – as highlighted – complement the cinematic experience in the comfort of home.
More details will be revealed as the release of individual models approaches. For now, Samsung declares that the 2025 offering will include televisions ranging from 24 to 115 inches, however, prices remain undisclosed for the time being.
