Apple in its latest MacBook Pro 14 and 16 series has utilized displays with quantum dot technology. The manufacturer does not want to boast too much about it, although it is worth it.
During the recent launch of laptops from Apple, there was no mention of introducing quantum dot technology to the Liquid Retina XDR display. The use of QLED has replaced the use of phosphor, and combined with miniLED backlighting, it provides a deeper color palette, but also solves one more problem. The research firm DSCC discovered that the use of phosphor caused the so-called "cyan flash" when transitioning from a dark scene to a scene with brighter elements, as can be seen below.
The current version of the Mac Pro Display, which is Apple's top 6K display, does not yet feature quantum dot technology. It is possible that this will also go in a different direction, as the latest iPad Pro has an OLED display. Considering the increasing use of these panels in laptops and in monitors, such as 27 inches, Apple may eventually be inclined to fully transition to self-emissive displays.
