Panasonic announces launches for 2025: two new TVs - Z95B OLED and W95B Mini LED

Calendar 15 January 2025

Panasonic has just announced two new series of televisions that are set to hit stores in 2025. We are talking about the OLED Z95B and the Mini LED W95B. This time, the manufacturer is focusing on two different technological solutions – OLED and LCD with miniature LED (Mini LED). Below we have gathered the most important information for you.

Panasonic Z95B OLED

Who is it for?

If you value excellent color reproduction, deep blacks, and high brightness, the Z95B may be worth considering. It is a continuation of the Z line, in which the model Z95A was released last year. New features in the Z95B series include an improved OLED panel (with the so-called Primary RGB tandem system) and the proprietary ThermalFlow cooling system. The Z95B will be available in sizes 55, 65, and 77 inches.

What’s new in Z95B?
  • Higher brightness: Thanks to the combination of an advanced OLED panel (Primary RGB) and cooling optimization, the TV is designed to provide even brighter and more saturated colors than the Z95A.

  • Improved audio: Higher-end OLED models from Panasonic have been known for solid sound systems. In the Z95B, the speaker system has been redesigned (adding side and upward-facing speakers) to achieve a wider soundstage.

  • Gaming: The TV supports AMD FreeSync™ Premium and NVIDIA® G-SYNC® Compatible with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. It also features a True Game mode that can be calibrated with Calman software.

  • Built-in Fire TV: The Z95B comes with the Fire TV platform straight out of the box, featuring the Prime Video Calibrated mode. Apple AirPlay and HomeKit are also supported, and the platform allows for voice control with Alexa.

  • Professional calibration: For the first time in Panasonic TVs with Fire TV, the Calman and ISFccc functions are available, which will be appreciated by those committed to fidelity and the best image quality.

Panasonic W95B Mini LED

For whom?

If OLED isn't quite your thing and you prefer LCD TVs, the W95B may be an option worth considering. Panasonic is expanding its offer in the Mini LED segment to compete with models from other brands. The W95B will be available in sizes 55, 65, 75, and 85 inches.

Key information about the W95B:
  • Increased number of backlight zones: Panasonic claims there are over 2.5 times more than in last year's W95A (depending on screen size). More zones translate to better contrast and fewer "halo" effects around bright objects.

  • Improved color gamut: The manufacturer has used phosphor Mini LED backlighting instead of quantum dot technology. Combined with a new real-time color tuning system, this is expected to result in vibrant and – importantly – stable colors.

  • Hybrid Tone Mapping: A new tone mapping method for HDR content that aims to prevent saturation loss in very bright areas of the image.

  • Processor: The W95B is powered by the HCX Pro AI MK II, supporting Dolby Vision IQ (with Precision Detail) and refresh rates of up to 144 Hz.

  • 20 W Subwoofer: The built-in subwoofer provides slightly better bass, and if needed, an additional external subwoofer can be connected.

  • Gaming features: The TV supports AMD FreeSync™ Premium, has low input lag, and a True Game mode (also calibratable via Calman).

  • Fire TV platform: Just like in the Z95B, we have built-in Fire TV here. Included – Prime Video Calibrated Mode, AirPlay, voice control via Alexa, Penta tuner for the European market, and ATSC 3.0 (NEXTGEN TV) for the United States.

Panasonic is expanding its television offering for 2025 in two main directions: advanced OLED (Z95B) and high-end Mini LED (W95B). Both proposals share common features such as collaboration with Fire TV, extensive calibration options, and an emphasis on 144 Hz gaming.

For those following Panasonic's OLED model history, the continuation of the Z series will be interesting – the Z95B draws from the experiences of Z95A, but has a noticeably improved panel and cooling. Meanwhile, the W95B is a proposal for those who prefer LCD and are looking for something with a larger diagonal, a significant number of backlight zones, and enhanced bass.

Prices and a specific market debut date have not yet been announced. It can be assumed that they will appear later in 2025. If you are interested in the review of the Z95A series, which we mentioned, you will find it in the reviews section on our website. And we are already rubbing our hands to test the new products from 2025!
