Philips announces a new line of soundbars set to launch between May and September. Among them, there will be three models – B8500, B8200, and B6100 – designed to meet various needs and television sizes, both newer and older.
B8500 – flagship proposal
At the top of the offer is the B8500, equipped with a 5.1-channel system with a total power of 300 W, accompanied by an additional subwoofer (150 W). The soundbar supports HDMI 2.1 with 4K passthrough at 120 Hz, which should interest gamers, as well as supporting the eARC standard, allowing for lossless audio transmission. It also features Bluetooth 5.4 with LE Audio, providing a more stable and energy-efficient connection. The model will hit the stores in September, and the price is expected to be around 400$.
B8200 and B6100 – compact 2.1 soundbars
Those looking for slightly smaller solutions may consider the B8200 and B6100. Both devices offer a 2.1-channel system with a dedicated subwoofer, support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats, and are equipped with eARC. The B8200 model (premiere in August) uses Bluetooth 5.3, while the B6100 (available from May) boasts Bluetooth 5.4.
B8200 is better suited for larger TVs with a central stand.
B6100 is designed for screens sized 48–55 inches, typically placed on two feet.
So far, no official prices for the B8200 and B6100 have been announced. We should learn more details closer to their release date. The new line of soundbars aims to improve sound quality in home settings, and support for advanced audio formats is intended to complement the upcoming line of Philips TVs for 2025.
