Panasonic has just announced two new series of televisions that are set to hit stores in 2025. We are talking about the OLED Z95B and the Mini LED W95B. This time, the manufacturer is focusing on two different technological solutions – OLED and LCD with miniaturised LED diodes (Mini LED). Below, we have gathered the most important information for you.
Panasonic Z95B OLED
Who is it for?
If you appreciate excellent colour reproduction, deep blacks, and high brightness, the Z95B may be worth your attention. It continues the Z line, which saw the release of the Z95A last year. New features in the Z95B series include an enhanced OLED panel (with the so-called Primary RGB tandem system) and a proprietary ThermalFlow cooling system. The Z95B will be available in sizes 55, 65, and 77 inches.
What's new in the Z95B?
Higher brightness: Thanks to the combination of an advanced OLED panel (Primary RGB) and cooling optimisation, the television promises even brighter and more saturated colours than the Z95A.
Improved audio: A hallmark of higher-end OLED models from Panasonic has been solid sound quality. In the Z95B, the speaker system has been redesigned (adding side and upward-firing speakers) to achieve a wider sound stage.
Gaming: The television supports AMD FreeSync™ Premium and NVIDIA® G-SYNC® Compatible with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. It also features a True Game mode that can be calibrated with Calman software.
Built-in Fire TV: The Z95B comes with the Fire TV platform at launch, featuring a Prime Video Calibrated mode. It also supports Apple AirPlay and HomeKit, and the platform allows for voice control with Alexa.
Professional calibration: For the first time in Panasonic televisions with Fire TV, the Calman and ISFccc features are available, which will be appreciated by those who value fidelity and the best quality image.
Panasonic W95B Mini LED
Who is it for?
If OLED is not quite your thing and you prefer LCD televisions, the W95B could be a worthy option to consider. Panasonic is expanding its range in the Mini LED segment to compete with models from other brands. The W95B will be available in sizes 55, 65, 75, and 85 inches.
Key information about the W95B:
A greater number of backlighting zones: Panasonic claims there are over 2.5 times more than last year's W95A (depending on the screen size). More zones translate to better contrast and fewer "halo" effects around bright objects.
Improved colour range: The manufacturer has used Mini LED phosphor backlighting instead of quantum dot technology. Combined with a new real-time colour tuning system, this is expected to result in vivid and – importantly – stable colours.
Hybrid Tone Mapping: A new tone mapping method for HDR content that aims to prevent loss of saturation in very bright parts of the image.
Processor: The W95B is powered by the HCX Pro AI MK II, supporting Dolby Vision IQ (with Precision Detail) and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz.
20 W subwoofer: The built-in subwoofer guarantees somewhat better bass, and if necessary, an additional external subwoofer can be connected.
Gaming features: The television supports AMD FreeSync™ Premium, has low input lag, and a True Game mode (also calibratable via Calman).
Fire TV platform: Just like in the Z95B, we have built-in Fire TV here. Included – Prime Video Calibrated Mode, AirPlay, voice control via Alexa, Penta tuner for the European market, or ATSC 3.0 (NEXTGEN TV) for the United States.
Panasonic is expanding its range of televisions for 2025 in two main directions: advanced OLED (Z95B) and high-end Mini LED (W95B). Both proposals share common features, such as collaboration with Fire TV, extensive calibration functions, and a focus on gaming at 144 Hz.
For those following the history of Panasonic's OLED models, the continuation of the Z series will be of interest – the Z95B draws from the experiences of the Z95A, but has a clearly improved panel and cooling. Meanwhile, the W95B is aimed at those who prefer LCD and are looking for something with a larger diagonal, a considerable number of dimming zones, and enhanced bass.
Prices and a specific market debut date have not yet been announced. It can be assumed that they will appear later in 2025.
