If you love playing with smart lighting and in particular Ambilight lighting, we have great news for you: the Philips Hue Sync app has just arrived on LG televisions from 2024. Previously, this app was only available on Samsungs, but now LG television users can also enjoy the synchronisation of lights with what is happening on the screen.
Unfortunately, like any solution of this type, it involves costs. The application is not free – purchasing it means an additional expense - either a one-time payment or in the form of a subscription. On top of that, you need to add the cost of original Philips Hue bulbs or lamps, which range from several hundred to even several thousand zlotys.
Nevertheless, the application has a significant advantage over the already well-known Philips Hue Sync Box – it can handle internal image sources, such as built-in applications, and not just external signals supplied via HDMI cable.
How to connect Philips Hue smart lighting to an LG TV?
Unfortunately, there is one more catch. The application only appears on models from 2024 (and newer). If you own an older LG television and were hoping for an update, you will have to settle for less (at least for now). At this moment, there are no official announcements that Hue Sync will also be available for previous models. If anything changes, we will definitely let you know! However, everything indicates that Philips televisions (TPV) will have an even harder time in the coming years.
