Samsung OLED Tile – will modular OLED screens replace microLED?

Calendar 4/3/2025

Imagine that you are building a gigantic television... like with LEGO bricks! This is exactly how Samsung's new concept works – OLED Tile. At the MWC 2025 fair, the company demonstrated how to connect nearly bezel-free OLED panels into one seamless surface. The secret? The bezels have been reduced to just 0.6 mm – that's thinner than a credit card!

How does modular OLED work?

When the panels are connected, the visible lines between them become barely noticeable. Samsung showcased a setup of 10 OLED panels (6.8 inches) and two huge QD-OLED screens (31.5 inches). The effect is impressive! Though it must be admitted – microLED technology still has thinner connections between the modules.

Is OLED Tile an alternative to MicroLED?

As we know, Samsung has been selling MicroLED screens for some time now. However, their price effectively deters many customers – we are talking about amounts reaching even six zeros! This is why OLED Tile may turn out to be an attractive alternative at a significantly lower price.
