LG OLED G5 hits the first shops! New OLED generation now on sale

Calendar 2/25/2025

Fans of the latest screen technologies can already rub their hands together – the first specimens of OLED G5 televisions have appeared in British stores. This new generation is equipped with a new type of WOLED matrix, known as tandem OLED, which is expected to offer even higher brightness and longer panel lifespan.

The G5 series is the natural successor to the G4 model, which was recognized as the best OLED of 2024. Expectations for the new line are therefore huge. The manufacturer promises even better picture quality, more accurate color reproduction, and improved HDR performance.

However, the most surprising is the remote control, which according to the materials available in the store, looks like an old generation Magic remote – with an additional button for AI search. This is quite unusual, as earlier rumors, as well as presentations at the CES trade show, suggested that the new Magic remote was to be standardized and simplified, resembling the one used in Samsung models. Does this mean that the manufacturer has backed out of these plans? Or is it just a temporary solution? We will have to wait for answers, but one thing is certain – the OLED G5 is generating increasing excitement.

Interestingly, the store has also showcased the first promotional images featuring the television's equipment. Two mounting versions are visible – the model with the LS suffix in its name is equipped with a classic stand, while the LW version has a factory wall-mount bracket.

When it comes to prices, they are not particularly low at the start. The most popular sizes, namely 55 inches and 65 inches, are priced at £2399 and £3299, respectively. These amounts may evoke mixed feelings; however, one must remember that in the television world, everything new is very expensive, and this price should standardize after the holiday period.

So far, televisions have appeared on the British shop, but one can expect them to soon arrive in other European countries as well. Will the G5 meet the high expectations of enthusiasts? The first tests and reviews will surely dispel any doubts!
