Samsung presents its vision of the televisions of the future at the Frankfurt fair
During the March event "World of Samsung" in Frankfurt, the company focused on the integration of artificial intelligence with televisions, which have maintained their position as the global sales leader for nearly two decades. The presentation included both technological innovations and a long-term support strategy for users.
AI as the New Standard in TVs
The latest Samsung TV models – including OLED, QLED, Neo QLED, and lifestyle The Frame – are set to utilize AI algorithms for dynamic image optimization. The AI Picture Optimizer system analyzes each frame in real-time, adjusting brightness, contrast, and color based on the type of content displayed. The company emphasizes that the goal is to eliminate manual adjustments of settings by viewers.
Support for quantum dot technology is also evolving. Color Booster Pro aims to expand the color gamut using semiconductor nanoparticles. Samsung points out that since 2015, it has been gradually phasing out cadmium in favor of safer indium-based compounds, which are much safer for humans.
Art in the Living Room and Cinema at Home
In response to the personalization trend, Samsung is expanding the Art Store – a digital art gallery, which will now also be available on QLED, Neo QLED, and Micro LED televisions, not just in The Frame series. Starting in 2025, the collection is set to include over 3000 works from 70 institutions, including those partnering with Art Basel.
Gaming Monitors Without Compromise
The gaming segment will be powered by new Odyssey monitors: a 27-inch OLED G8 with a 4K/240 Hz panel and a 49-inch G9 with a 1000R curve. Samsung also announces the implementation of AI Automatic Game Mode, which detects the genre of the game and automatically configures the image parameters. The Gaming Hub service is designed to facilitate access to streaming titles without the need for a console.
Longevity in a Package
The company has committed to providing seven-year updates for the Tizen system (with the One UI interface) and the Knox Matrix security platform for televisions from 2025. This is a response to criticism regarding the short support cycle for smart TVs.
Although Samsung also mentioned the integration of TVs with the SmartThings ecosystem and Galaxy S25 series mobile devices, the new TV models remain the main pillar of the strategy for the upcoming years. (at least for us 😉). According to the company's data, they have also led in soundbar sales for 11 years, which – as emphasized – enhance the cinematic experience in the comfort of your home.
More details will be revealed as we approach the premiere of individual models. For now, Samsung states that the 2025 offering will include TVs ranging from 24 to 115 inches, however, prices remain undisclosed for now.
