Samsung unveils monitors for 2025 - artificial intelligence, OLED and something for everyone

Calendar 15 January 2025

Samsung has just revealed the first details about new monitors that we will see at the CES 2025 trade show in January. This year, the company is focusing on three issues: better image quality through artificial intelligence, enhancements for gamers, and convenience in daily work.

Odyssey OLED G8 and G6 – for gamers who do not accept compromises

For gaming fans, Samsung has prepared two new models from the Odyssey line:

  • Odyssey OLED G8 – a 27-inch 4K monitor with a refresh rate of 240 Hz. If you want excellent image quality and high fluidity at the same time, this could be a perfect choice.

  • Odyssey OLED G6 – here we have QHD resolution, but with an impressive refresh rate of 500 Hz! The gear targets gamers who prioritize responsiveness the most.

Odyssey 3D (G90XF) - Three-dimensional without glasses

Samsung will showcase at CES 2025 a 27-inch monitor Odyssey 3D (G90XF), which allows enjoying three-dimensional images without the need to wear special glasses. This effect is achieved using a lenticular lens – a special lens mounted on the front of the screen, as well as a stereo camera that tracks the user's position and adjusts the image in real time.

The monitor can also transform regular 2D images into three-dimensional ones. It uses artificial intelligence to analyze the content and add a depth effect. As a result, both games and movies can take on a new dimension – literally and figuratively.

Although the technology sounds innovative, it is still difficult to say how well it will perform in practice.

Smart Monitor M9 – a universal screen for everyday use

The Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF) model looks promising because it utilizes AI Picture Optimizer technology, which automatically adjusts display parameters to the currently viewed content – whether it's a movie, a documentary, or a game. Additionally, it features AI Upscaling Pro, allowing older recordings to be "enhanced" to a quality close to 4K. These are technologies from the manufacturer known from the TVs we have tested from this company. So we are very curious how this has been implemented in the monitors.

The monitor is equipped with an OLED panel with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification (which means deeper blacks and great contrast) and a built-in 4K camera – useful for home office or video calls.

ViewFinity S8 – work, projects, and graphics in one place

If you work a lot with graphics or projects, you will probably be interested in ViewFinity S8. This is a 37-inch 4K display with 99% sRGB coverage. It also features a USB-C port with 90 W charging and a KVM switch (which means you can connect several devices and switch with a single click). A brightness of 350 nits should be sufficient even in brighter offices.

We will wait for the full presentation until the CES 2025 fair, but it is already clear that Samsung is heavily focused on solutions based on artificial intelligence, OLED matrices, and features tailored for different applications – from gaming to movies, to office work. Will they actually be as good as the manufacturer promises? We will find out soon.
